The simple things in life can be the most rewarding. Simple things are often more difficult to produce than complicated things. This is because there is no place to hide mistakes. If there are 50 things to look at, none of them have to be great because they are all competing for your attention. If there are only a few things to look at all of them must be perfect. The Swiss have never been ones to suffer mistakes. That is why I like Swiss watches, and in particular this watch series. Simple perfection all the way around. There are a couple of different versions of this watch each with its own personality and presence. The black face watch is unassuming at 32mm wide (35mm wide with the crown) and 10mm thick (not everybody wants a big watch). The hardened mineral crystal shows a gentlemen all the information he really needs. Luminous hands count the minutes and hours (the seconds hand does not have luminous material) and the date is seen through a magnified window at the 3 O'clock position. There are Arabic numerals at 12,6, and 9 O'clock with luminous bar makers showing the rest of the way. The 25 jewel Swiss movement can survive depths up to 50 meters thanks to the screw down case back and crown. The white faced version is a little different. First of all its bigger being 36mm wide (38mm wide with the crown) and 10mm thick. The white face puts that extra space to good use by incorporating a day display that the black face does not have. The minute and hour hands have luminous markings same as on the black face watch. Stick markers with luminous dots take the place of any numbers on the white face watch. Otherwise the watches are the same, perfect in their simple way. 

Simply, an easy watch to love and a hard watch to fault.
