We are closing out our Poljot inventory. Costs on these models have gone up
enough that we can no longer offer them at a competitive price.
Poljot Manual
wind Chronograph Watches
Many of you have asked us to find a good quality mechanical chronograph watch
for less than $500. This turned out to be a fairly tall order as the vast
majority of mechanical chronographs utilize the Valjoux 7750 movement and are
usually something pretty close to $1,000 (or a great deal more). Now we
like (in fact, we reeeeeeeally like) the Valjoux movement. It has been
around for quite a while and is functional, durable and flexible. Goodness knows
that the 7750 is used in lots of different watches to great success. Still,
there's that whole price issue. While there are a couple new watches available
for less than $1,000, we couldn't find anything in the sub-$500 range.
A while back, another watch fanatic suggested we take a look at Poljot. We
had reviewed and tested some of these watches before and thought they were too
similar to other low-priced offerings to be of any real interest. That was
before we found out about the 3133 movement. It seems that after World War II,
the Russians imported the means to produce this movement from the famous
watch-making center of Glashutte Germany. Take a look at what WatchTime had to
say about this movement:

The new Poljot 3133 watches have a two dial chronograph as well as a date
display in a very nice manual wind watch at prices that are way below the $500
mark. We are currently carrying two models and will be adding more as we hear from
you. There are several case/face/strap designs available and we will build our
inventory based on your feedback.
